At my 36 week appoint the doctor had scheduled an ultrasound to measure baby and see if we were still on track for an attempt at a V-BAC birth. Little did we know that God had a much different plan. The ultrasound showed very low amniotic fluid and the doctor sent me across the street to labor and delivery at the hospital. They let us wait overnight as long as we stayed at the hospital, but delivery was set up for the next morning. Lily was just as excited as we were to meet our newest member!

Welcome to the world Azalea June! At 12:12 PM on September 10th, a beautiful baby girl came into the world and our hearts. We couldn't be happier to meet our new daughter! She came a lot earlier than we all expected, and was loved even more than we thought possible.

The family checking out their new sister/granddaughter/niece

Azalea went through a very traumatic birth- bruised and banged up, she was all tuckered out.

The instant bond between father and daughter.

Our beautiful Azalea June!
Right after her birth the doctors were concerned about her health. She soon went to the NICU.

Little did we know both girls would share a similar birth story.

Too sick to hold. Just a few hours after her birth, Azalea was brought to the NICU with RDS (respiratory distress syndrome). She was put on the ventilator, but blessed with a strong set of lungs that got better very quickly.

FINALLY mama got to hold her baby girl again!

Azalea even got to get her "tan on" under the lights for 2 days.

Sweet little honey

Snug as a bug!

Almost ready to breath on her own! The doctors were amazed and how quickly she recovered. That's our strong girl!
